In this video, I break down the first major step to starting a security company in New York: understanding the Watch, Guard or Patrol Agency License, also called the WGP license. A regular New York security guard license lets you work as a guard. A Watch, Guard or Patrol Agency License is different. This is the license connected to operating a security agency business in New York and providing guards or patrol services to clients. A lot of guards eventually think, “I could start my own company.”
